The local music biz, songwriters blues, and heading into summer...

Hi friends! It's been awhile since I've written so I wanted to do a little catching up. County Line has been together for over six years now and we're still going strong! We've long ago given up our dream of "making it big" (all musicians have that dream at some time) and now just wanna focus on having fun. Play when and where we wanna play, write some new songs, expand our "Dead Songwriter Series" (more on that below), and keep the energy high. We've got a damn good band--we know that--and we want to share that with as many people as we can. So come and see a show (bring friends!), listen to the songs, appreciate the fine musicianship and you'll see what I mean.

One of the reasons why I've dreamt of taking my music to the next level is because I'm a songwriter. I know I've written some good songs, songs that I think would hold their own at the pro level, songs that Guy Clark would listen to. Songwriters want their tunes to be heard--they want their lyrics to be listened to, they want folks to think about the interplay between lyricism and melody. It's funny, but my band members aren't as interested in the lyrics as they are the music--but I've always been drawn to lyrics, a good melody, and ear-candy hooks. I always enjoy more of a connection with the audience because I've always thought that we--the band and the audience--are a team. We're in this together--and I hope you'll continue on this adventure with us.

The summer of 2023 finds us playing all around the gorge, inside and out, at many familiar venues. New songs are coming a bit slower even though there is still plenty of material out there. But I'll keep on truckin! We plan on expanding our Dead Songwriter series and play a few more covers from artists we've long admired. We've got some cool tunes coming from Hank Williams, Gram Parsons, Merle Haggard, John Prine, and more. We look forward to seeing you at a show!!

Finally, here we go 2022...

Hi friends. What a couple of pandemic years, huh? Since the pandemic started, we've been laying low and not playing live much--if at all....
